The U.S. Army Medical Materiel Agency, a subordinate organization of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, hosted a detachment Change of Command ceremony June 16, at Fort Detrick, Maryland.

USAMMA Detachment Commander Capt. Dennis Kim relinquished command to incoming Capt. Felipe Rodriguez. USAMMA Commander Col. Lynn Marm presided over the ceremony.

"I came to the USAMMA as a first lieutenant and was astounded by the professionalism, work ethic and the atmosphere. Although USAMMA is a senior organization, the Soldiers, civilians and contractors operate much like a tribe," said Kim. "Everyone has a key role in the mission, treats each other with respect and is fiercely loyal to the commander and unit."

Kim will attend College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia where he is pursuing a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in supply chain management.

"As a captain, I was given the opportunity to learn alongside the best and brightest our medical logistics community has to offer. I leave here with sharpened tools for my kit bag and a lifetime of memories and experiences," added Kim. "I wish USAMMA the best, as I know that I will continue to be impacted by and work with the team here as I progress further in my career."

Rodriguez comes to USAMMA from Weed Army Community Hospital, Fort Irwin, California, where he served as the Chief of Logistics. Rodriguez enlisted in the Army in 1997 and was commissioned in 2010. He is a graduate of the 70K Medical Logistics Officers Course and has a bachelor's degree from California State University Dominguez Hills.
