HONOLULU, Hawaii (Apr. 24, 2017) -- Tripler Army Medical Center's oncology clinic held their annual "Oncology on Canvas" event on Apr 21-22, 2017. Over 300 patients, family members and friends created expressive art pieces along with narratives of their cancer journey. Oncology patients experience various psychological challenges with their illness. Expressive arts therapy assists patients and their support systems, directly and indirectly verbalizing acceptance, fear or denial of their cancer diagnosis.
