Ten Fort Leonard Wood dining facilities served more than 25,000 traditional Thanksgiving meals Thursday. The annual feast, consisting of more than four tons of turkey, 900 pounds of shrimp, 3,000 pounds of rib eye and more than 2,000 assorted pies takes more than 300 food service employees to prepare and six months of planning. Fort Leonard Wood is No. 2 in the Department of Defense for most meals served annually, coming in behind Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
