FORT BENNING, Ga., (Oct. 5, 2016) -- Six Armor officers with the German army spent Sept. 23 to Oct. 2 visiting Fort Benning to observe training and attend briefings.

Sgt. Maj. Carsten Dreblow, the German Liaison Officer at Fort Benning, accompanied the German officers during their visit.

The objective of the visit was to build and strengthen relationships between the Munster Training Center, Panzertruppenschule, Heeresaufklarungsschule, the Maneuver Center of Excellence, and the U.S. Army Armor School.

The German officers were able to tour the Clarke Simulation Center, the Armor Restoration Facility and the Warrior Training Center.

While at the WTC, the German officers were briefed about how the WTC functions and trains its instructors.

The briefing was led in part by Master Sgt. Jason Kasner, the noncommissioned officer in charge at WTC. Alpha, Bravo and Charlie Company officers also took part in the briefing.

"This facility is run by the National Guard for the National Guard and we train the active component also," Kasner explained to the visitors.

The briefing covered the Ranger Training Assessment course, the Abrams Training Assessment course, the Bradley Training Assessment course and the Senior Gunner course.

The briefing also covered ways of efficiently training Soldiers and managing growth.

"We have great facilities here and are supported well by Fort Benning," said Kasner. "We have put a lot of money into our facilities."

During the visit the German officers discussed with their American counterparts about traveling capabilities for training, graduation rates and the challenge of finding instructors.

"It is great to be here," said Dreblow. "We got a lot of information today."
