German TV crew shadows Brig. Gen. Laubenthal for news segment

WIESBADEN, Germany -- A German news team recently followed U.S. Army Europe's chief of staff around with a camera for a look into the daily operations at the command.

Hessische Rundfunk followed German Brig. Gen. Markus Laubenthal as he went about a typical work day around Clay Kaserne, in Wiesbaden, Germany, where U.S. Army Europe is headquartered.

The news segment, "A day in the life of Brig. Gen. Laubenthal as Chief of Staff of U.S. Army Europe," aired on the Hessenschau, the state of Hesse daily TV news cast, May 5.

Laubenthal became U.S. Army Europe's first multinational chief of staff in August 2014.

U.S. Army Europe's chief of staff monitors, coordinates and directs all administrative, logistic and operational support as required by the commanding general to maintain the readiness of the command.

The chief of staff serves as the principal advisor to the commanding general and deputy commanding general on all matters related to efficient and effective staff procedures to implement the commanding general's strategic vision.
