HOHENFELS, Germany (14 April, 2016) -- Nearly 1,000 Soldiers from Italy, the United Kingdom and the U.S. Army's 173rd Airborne Brigade dropped into a landing zone outside the Hohenfels Training Area as part of exercise Saber Junction 16, using two maneuver rights areas.

Nearly 5,000 participants from 16 NATO and European partner nations will participate Exercise Saber Junction 16 at the U.S. Army's Hohenfels Training Area in southeastern Germany, March 31 -- April 24, 2016.

Countries participating in the exercise include Albania, Armenia, Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Saber Junction 16 will evaluate and assess the readiness of the U.S. Army's 173rd Airborne Brigade to conduct Unified Land Operations in a joint, combined environment and to promote interoperability with participating Allied and partner nations.
