Soldiers of 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division and their attached units participated in a physical training competition at Fort Stewart, Ga., April 7, 2016.
Soldiers of 1-30th Inf. and its attached units participate in this competition monthly to boost morale across the organization and choose who will bear the coveted "War Flag."
The company with the quickest time and the winner was Company A, 3rd Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, attached to 1-30th Inf. Events include weighted Skedco litter sprints, pushups, squats, and assembly of an M240L machine gun.
The competition relied heavily on teamwork as each event required many repetitions so one person could not accomplish it alone. No team could move on to the next event until every member was done with their part of the event. Times were tallied after every company finished the event.
