PICATINNY ARSENAL, N.J. -- Picatinny welcomed 60 new faces to the new employee orientation March 2-4. The orientation, held in the Lindner Conference Center, gave an overview of what to expect as a new arsenal employee.
The orientation reviewed topics such as Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), standards of conduct and ethics, as well as topics such as anti-terrorism and how to respond to chemical spills. The orientation also included a bus tour of the arsenal.
"It's been great. There were a lot of things that I didn't know, for example, MWR and some of the benefits that I wish I would have known it sooner," said Tracey Muller, program assistant, Enterprise & Systems Integration Center.
Muller has been an employee for four months.
"It's been nice seeing a lot more of the Soldiers in uniform," said Steven Hansen, computer engineer, Armament Software Engineer Center. "My coworkers and supervisors have been in the military but are not in uniform on a daily basis so it's been nice to see and hear from those who are on active duty."
"This is a good opportunity for me to learn about the organization and the tenants here that actually work with us," said Jaouad Eddhimene, computer engineer, Field Artillery Fire Control Division, Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center.
"I've worked with the U.S. Army before and we didn't have this introduction. This is good and unique and I like to learn about what's available for us. I like MWR and I like to do activities outside of work and in my spare time," concluded Eddhimene.
