WEST POINT, N.Y. (October 1, 2015) -- The U.S. Academy at West Point, men's tennis team is set to begin its second event of the weekend when it hosts the Army Invite on Oct. 3-4.
A portion of the team is also competing in the Boise State Invite which started on October 1.
The two-day tournament will include Fairfield and Stony Brook with a mock-dual format. Each school will have one team that will compete in singles and doubles matches, with a fourth "All-Star" team being added to the field which will consist of players from the two schools not already in the match.
"The guys we have competing in the Army Invite will be getting a lot of experience from good match play," said head coach Jim Poling. "It's going to be an exciting weekend. Our goal is to be playing better at the end of the tournament than when we started. There are some specific things we've been working on, and we're just trying to improve in those areas. We are trying to prepare our guys for the ITA Regional's three weeks from now."
Competition will begin on Oct. 3, at 10 a.m. with action on Oct. 4, starting at 9 a.m.
