HONOLULU, Hawaii (May 14, 2015) -- Pacific Regional Medical Command (PRMC) has re-launched its Facebook page with an energetic campaign to increase information about the Army's largest geographical medical region.

The page features daily health information and PRMC related news, stories, videos and photos from across the region.

The PRMC footprint includes Tripler Army Medical Center, U.S. Army Health Clinic Schofield Barracks, 18th Medical Command (Deployment Support) and Medical Activities -- Japan and Korea.

PRMC Commanding General, Brig. Gen. Patrick Sargent says he hopes to reach a portion of the approximately 450,000 beneficiaries across the region through the social media site. "Having a strong social media presence will allow me to better communicate how PRMC is ensuring the delivery of highly reliable, patient-centered healthcare to our valuable patients as well as to communicate new initiatives."

The PRMC Facebook page originally launched in February after Pacific Regional Medical Command officially separated from Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC).

Prior to the separation, PRMC and TAMC shared a Facebook page, which has generated more than 7,600 "likes" to date.

PRMC's Director of Communication, Ana Allen says the timing is right to reinvigorate efforts to grow the PRMC social media footprint.

"With the PRMC and TAMC reorganization well behind us, we've been able to shift our focus from establishing our presence on social media platforms to truly growing our audience, increasing synchronization of Army medical messaging across the region," Allen said.

Allen also said visitors to the page can also expect a more story centric vibe that is relevant to the interest of the Soldiers, civilians and beneficiaries in the region. "Every member of the PRMC ohana, from our providers, nurses and medics, to our patients and community partners, plays a valuable role in our transformation from a healthcare system to a system for health. Each one of these members has a story to tell and we want to leverage the power of social media to help us tell those stories."

The PRMC social media team is aiming to reach 3,000 "likes" by June 11, 2015.
