In a month that is typically designated for patient recognition and care, tables were turned on several staff members of US Army Medical Activity at Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield.

Winn Army Community Hospital commander, Col. Kirk Eggleston presented awards of "We Believe" to four members of the Richmond Hill Medical Home, Feb. 25.

The 'We Believe' program awards were initiated by Col. Eggleston when he became the commander at Winn ACH. The concept is not for doing your job…it's for those special and exceptional services given to patients, with the comments made by patients who felt that their care was above and beyond the normal expectation.

Under the 'We Believe' concept, it is the ongoing process that everyone can make a positive difference, hence the award presentations. Like the Academy Award, staff members are not aware of their getting the award until the command staff arrives for presentation.
