ARLINGTON, Va. (Nov. 6, 2014) -- Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, laid a wreath during a U.S. Army Full Honors Wreath Lay Ceremony with Maj. Gen. Jeffrey S. Buchanan, Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington commanding general, at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery.

Princess Anne participated in the ceremony to honor the servicemen and women from the U.S. Armed Forces. She also paid her respects for the sacrifices of America's veterans in foreign wars.

She presented the Victoria Cross, Britain's highest award for gallantry, to Jack E. Lechner, Arlington National Cemetery superintendent, in honor of the men from World War I.
