FORT HOOD, Texas -- The 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division and families welcomed home approximately 300 Troopers of 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment Oct. 13 at Cooper Field here in the first major redeployment from their tour.
This officially marks the conclusion of their nine-month deployment to Camps Hovey and Stanley, Republic of Korea.
This was the brigade's first rotational deployment of a battalion to the Korean peninsula. While there, the nearly 800 brigade Soldiers trained alongside the Republic of Korea army as a combined arms battalion.
The 1-12 Cav. was replaced by the 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, also with the 3rd BCT, 1st Cav. Div., in October this year.
