
BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan--The 1st Theater Sustainment Command's command team, Maj. Gen. Darrell K. Williams and Command Sgt. Maj. Nathaniel J. Bartee, visited 401st Army Field Support Brigade and 3-401st AFSBn Aug. 27 to get a firsthand look at preparations and procedures in place to handle large amounts of equipment expected to be turned in for disposition in accordance with Army directives.
Williams and Bartee had an opportunity to view processes and procedures and talk to the military, civilians and contractors who are charged with receiving equipment from units, maintaining property accountability, de-installing government furnished and add-on equipment, washing, packing, shipping and tracking thousands of pieces of equipment ranging in size from hand-held items to MRAP recovery vehicles.
"I'm confident we can handle it," Col. Matthew J. Ferguson, 401st Army Field Support Brigade commander, told Williams at the conclusion of the briefing.
