OKINAWA, Japan (Aug. 6, 2014) -- U.S. Army Garrison Okinawa's Department of Public Works' Sign and Paint Shop, in collaboration with other shops form the operations and maintenance division, completed Aug. 6 the initial phase of an ongoing effort to standardize the signage around the Torii Station installation.
The overall aim is to have the same size, color and lettering schemes with the new Torii gate shaped frames on all the signs that represent USAG-O.
Signs for several 200 block buildings were recently updated, to include buildings 216 through buildings 218 along Buckner Blvd. The 10th Regional Support Group headquarters building was also updated with the new signs.
The sign standardization project is a part of the new branding campaign and efforts to place the USAG-O footprint across the installation.
USAG-O's intent is to help customers identify the locations of support offices and facilities across the installation, while brining the installation into conformance with the United Facilities Criteria 3-120-01, said a representative from USAG-O.
