CAMP HUMPHREYS -- One thing that is common in every household are picture frames, especially custom picture frames which are great presents to give or receive.
However, custom picture frames are expensive to purchase.
Luckily the Camp Humphreys' Community Activity Center came up with a clever solution to this simple issue.
People who live here can take advantage of the Arts and Crafts Center's Framing and Matting class, held in the Community Activity Center.
The class is designed to help patrons save money, by teaching them to make their own frames and matting for pictures. This can save an average of $30 when compared to custom frames that are professionally made, according to Yi Yu-chin, director of the Arts and Crafts Center.
The cost of the class is $15 and making your own custom frames is surprisingly easy.
"Custom made frames [are] very expensive," Yi said. "If [people] learn to make [frames] they can just buy the materials and save a lot of money."
Yi said that patrons of all ages are welcome to come. Framing pictures can be more than a way to save money; it can be a way to bring your family together to have some quality time.
Yi gives advice to all in three words. "Frame your life," he said.
