JOINT BASE MYER-HENDERSON HALL, Va. (May 14, 2014) -- America's most recent Medal of Honor recipient, former Army sergeant Kyle J. White, joined close to three thousand other audience members to watch the U.S. Army Military District of Washington's production of Twilight Tattoo.

White's award stems from his actions during a 2007 ambush in Afghanistan where he risked his life to save another Soldiers life. He was awarded the Medal of Honor on May 13th at the White House, becoming only the seventh living recipient of the top military honor for actions in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Hosting the military pageant featuring Soldiers from the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) and the U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" was Major General (Dr.) Nadja Y. West, the Joint Staff Surgeon at the Pentagon who serves as the chief medical advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Twilight Tattoo is an hour-long, live-action military pageant that provides audiences from around the world a glimpse into American history through performances by the U.S. Army Blues, vocalists from the U.S. Army Band Downrange, the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, and the U.S. Army Drill Team.

Twilight Tattoo is performed on Wednesday evening's beginning at 7 p.m. Pre-ceremony entertainment begins at 6:45 p.m. Performances from April 30 through June 25 will be located at Summerall Field at JBM-HH, Arlington, Va. Performances from July 9 through Aug. 20 will be located at Whipple Field, JBM-HH and of course if the weather is bad, it is held indoors at Conmy Hall on JBM-HH.
