ANSBACH, Germany (Nov. 25, 2013) -- The U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach's Protestant Women of the Chapel, or PWOC, at Storck Barracks hosted a special German/American Thanksgiving meal and program in an effort to strengthen the ties between Storck Barracks and the Illesheim local national community.

More than 100 dependent spouses and German ladies took part in the community event. Ladies from the Storck Chapel PWOC prepared a traditional American Thanksgiving meal and invited the ladies of local German churches to join them in this special event. In addition to preparing the Thanksgiving meal, the ladies also prepared a program, which was simultaneously translated into German by native German speakers.

One of the highlights of the evening was a pantomime dance, performed by Georgia Fowler of the Storck Barracks PWOC. Chaplain (Capt.) Eric Dean was the keynote speaker and shared a message on unity as an act of thanksgiving.

This community event resulted in a number of ladies making friendships and connections with others in their community.
