FORT BENNING, Ga., (Oct. 30, 2013) -- The weekend was filled with a host of activities for people of all ages during Fort Benning's annual Oktoberfest -- from keg-tossing to live music from the Gootman Band to a petting zoo for children.

The three-day fair included the keg-tapping ceremony Friday, in which local politicians, German liaison officers, Col. Michail S. Huerter, Fort Benning's garrison commander, and Maj. Gen. H. R. McMaster, Fort Benning's commanding general, came together to speak about the evening.

"It's a good event during the fall," said Nick Dinehart, who has relatives who live in Germany. "It's something that Germany does every single year … and it's fun to see what we can do in Georgia."
