Secretary of the Army Environmental Award Nominations Due Nov. 15, 2013

PENTAGON, Washington DC (August 15, 2013) -- A call for nominations has been published for the FY 2013 Secretary of the Army Environmental Awards and must be received prior to Nov. 15, 2013.

The Secretary of the Army (SecArmy) Environmental Awards Program recognizes outstanding performance and excellence in environmental stewardship and sustainability by Army installations, teams and individuals.

The awards emphasize innovation and accomplishments in sustainable practice, installation environmental management and community enhancement.

Award categories are:

Installation: Natural Resources Conservation - Small; Cultural Resources Management; Environmental Quality -Non Industrial; Sustainability - Industrial; and Environmental Restoration.

Team and Individual: Natural Resources Conservation; Environmental Quality; Environmental Restoration; and Environmental Excellence in Weapon System Acquisition - Large Program.

Nomination packets should be formatted in accordance with the FY13 SecArmy guidance.

SecArmy Army award winners will represent the Army in the 2014 Secretary of Defense Environmental Awards competition.

Award criteria and specific formats, forms, and information are contained in the Assistant Chief of Staff For Installation Management Memorandum, "Call for Nominations," dated 8 Aug. 2013.
