In 2008, Pine Bluff Arsenal Army Lodging became Recreational Lodging. At that time, this was something brand new for the Arsenal, and since then lodging facilities on the installation have expanded with an extended stay facility located off Fleming Road. According to Gloria Davis, lodging manager, these facilities can be used by anyone here on the Arsenal, as well as visitors to the installation. These facilities are also used for military or civilian personnel who are temporarily without permanent housing. .

Family rooms, suites and one-person rooms (with twin beds) are furnished with crafted furniture, linens and window treatments. Amenities include desks, Internet access, spacious closets, flat-screen televisions with cable and sitting areas. A community kitchen and laundry facility is also located on the premises. Some rooms, like the family rooms, include kitchens in the suites.

"We want to serve everyone -- from active duty military and their families to DoD civilian personnel," said Davis. "We want the Arsenal's personnel to know that we are here in case they need our facilities. They can use us just like they would a local hotel."

Room rates are as follows:

• Singles - $25 per night (only three available -- these stay full according to Davis)

• Suites - $45 per night

• VIP Suites - $50 per night

• Extended Stay - $29 per night if individual stays for full month

Note: Each room except the singles are an additional $5 per night for anyone in the room with paying individuals over the age of 12.

Lodging offices are open Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For additional information, call 540-3008.
