2013 MG Keith L. Ware Public Affairs Competition
The MG Keith L. Ware Public Affairs Competition recognizes Soldiers and Department of the Army civilian employees for excellence in achieving the objectives of the Army Public Affairs Program. On behalf of the Secretary of the Army, the Office of the Chief of Public Affairs conducts the competition annually in order to recognize, cultivate and inspire excellence within the Army public affairs community.
The KLW Competition aligns as closely as possible with the annual Department of Defense Thomas Jefferson Awards Program, establishes competition criteria and provides the Army with guidance for recognizing the most notable work of its public affairs professionals. The competition includes the Army’s Community Relations Awards program and SGM Dawn Kilpatrick Memorial AUSA Scholarship.
I am very excited to announce the 2013 MG Keith L. Ware Public Affairs Competition is underway.
We've just completed a major overhaul of the Standard Operating Procedures, to include reducing the competition to 36 categories, combining Soldiers and civilians in individual award categories, and eliminating prerequisites that were not consistent with digital advancements.
This streamlined submission process and more enhanced awards program will increase the prestige and level of competition of our program for the good of our Public Affairs professionals and the Army.
I'd also like to welcome our CMF 25-series visual information Soldiers to the competition. Your inclusion is long overdue, and I look forward to finally recognizing the work you do in Public Affairs.
Good luck to all of our competitors and thank you for all you do for our Soldiers and Army in telling the Army story.
