Dragon Hill Lodge throws big party to celebrate 18th anniversary

<b>YONGSAN GARRISON, Republic of Korea </b> Aca,!" Dragon Hill Lodge celebrates its 18th anniversary May 2-3 with a block party, games and activities, and a chance to win $10,000.

"We've had 18 years of fun supporting the community, and we want you to come out and show you how much we appreciate you," said Kimberly LaTendresse, Dragon Hill Lodge Guest Relations coordinator.

The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. May 2 with a cake-cutting ceremony in the courtyard followed by a program called "A Complimentary Taste of DHL" featuring DHL specialty food.

"We're providing free tastings from our various restaurants," LaTendresse said. "We want to highlight our great food." The event will also feature the 8th U.S. Army Jazz Band.

The block party Saturday, May 3, will take place all day in the courtyard. The party will feature bands, face painters and clowns for the kids, food and beverage tables, and prize drawings.

During the block party, active-duty military get a chance to win $10,000 during a special Frisbee toss challenge. "You register at the block party and we will draw names for a lucky individual to toss a Frisbee through a target. The first one to do so wins $10,000," LaTendresse said.

Following are other events scheduled for Saturday, May 3:

Aca,!Ac PCS garage sale: Come check out the treasures that PCSing families are parting with this summer! It starts at 10 a.m. in the upper-level parking area.

Aca,!Ac 3K family walk/run: Children will receive a "zoo" pass and get an animal stamp at various points along the route. Get all stamps and get a prize at the finish line.

Aca,!Ac Prize drawings: Submit entry forms at the block party to win prizes such as a round-trip ticket to the continental United States and overnight stays at 5-star hotels in Seoul. Only Department of Defense ID card holders are eligible for these prizes.
