Acting ASA(ALT) Ms. Heidi Shyu participated in AUSA's EuroSatory Land and Security Defense conference last week in Paris, France. As an invited speaker Shyu spoke on the importance of international cooperation in today's global security environment.
She emphasized the ever increasing importance of simultaneously managing resource constraints and soldier equipping, "...we must simultaneously reset, recapitalize, and modernize our force, and we must do so in a time of shrinking budgets and scarce resources. We know that the Army of 2020 will be a smaller, leaner force...".
