Researchers on Arctic Field Campaign
Researchers with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and various other insitutions work on the ice of the Chukchi Sea. In the background is the U.S. Coast Guard icebreaker, the Healy. This is a field campaign of the NASA-sponsored ICESCAPE.

Engineer Research and Development Center's (ERDC) Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) researchers participate with various other agencies and institutions on the ice in the Chukchi Sea. This field experiment is part of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)-sponsored ICESCAPE (Impacts of Climate change on the Eco-Systems and Chemistry of the Arctic Pacific Environment. The ship in the background is the U.S. Coast Guard icebreaker Healy. This photo was taken during the July 2010 field campaign.
