FORT BLISS, Texas - The Army Capabilities Integration Center (ARCIC), a Directorate of the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), will host media at Fort Bliss on Thursday, July 29, from 1 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. during the "Connecting Soldiers to Digital Applications (CSDA)" Digital Rodeo. The Rodeo is a demonstration of technologies that have not yet been incorporated into the CSDA program.

The Digital Rodeo will showcase industry "Best of Breed" technology with the potential to provide new mobile tools to Soldiers via CSDA. Media will have the opportunity to see firsthand the latest industry developments in smart phone applications for soldier training, administrative tasks and battlefield functions. They will also be able to interview developers and the soldiers who will use the applications in various training and evaluation events this fall.

The CSDA program was initiated in September 2009 and involves soldiers in the Army Evaluation Task Force (AETF) who are testing smart phone technology in different scenarios, including intelligence gathering on the battlefield. The program will fundamentally change the way soldiers access knowledge, information and communications in order to create a persistent learning environment without regard to where they are serving.

Media who desire to participate in this event should contact Mr. Dave Hampton not later than Friday, July 23, at (915) 568-8804.

The mission of the FFID, under the Army Capabilities Integration Center, Training and Doctrine Command, is to join a system of parts that make up modernization efforts in support of Army transformation, conduct train-evaluate-test activities and deliver capabilities packages aligned with ARFORGEN (Army Force Generation) in order to enable Army modernization.

For more information, contact Annie Gammell, FFID Public Affairs Office, at (915) 569-7234.
