Route to Commission: Enlisted in Georgia National Guard and went to basic training at Fort Benning, Ga.; Commissioned in 1987 as an infantry second lieutenant from North Georgia College in Dahlonega, Ga.; branch detailed to military intelligence in 1992.
MOS: 35D - all source intelligence
Education: Bachelor of Business Arts from North Georgia College; master's degree in organizational management from University of Phoenix
Marital Status: Married to Lindy
Children: Three boys - Jarod, 11; Jackson, 9; and Aaron, 8
Activities/Hobbies: Keeping up with three boys, running, swimming, cooking and gardening

Favorite thing about the Army: The relationships that you make are everlasting ones and the structured lifestyle you develop.
What I've learned being a Soldier: The Army is not an indoor sport. If you can't accept that then you probably need to seek employment elsewhere.
What inspires you to be a Soldier: My father had a strong influence on me, and my oldest brother, who went to the Naval Academy, and my youngest brother, who is currently a major in the Army, also had an influence.
