She may not be at the front counter of the Fort Sill Burger King restaurant on Sheridan Road, but she is seen, and heard.

"No one's a stranger with Peggy," said Marla Kennerson, facility manager.

With expert hands and good humor pouring out, Peggy Ollison, Burger King supervisor, works the boards making sandwiches five days a week. In November she will mark her 26th year working at the Home of the Whopper here.

"They love me when they walk in this door," said Ollison.

Kennerson said she has a great work ethic and usually returns early from vacations.

"I can depend on Peggy. She can handle the large orders and she's going to take care of customers. She even singles out the customers that she knows their orders and has them already in the bag."

"There's one lady who comes in now, she gets a Double Whopper, Double Cheeseburger, three large fries -- she doesn't even get in line she just comes all the way around," said Ollison.

Kennerson asked her to stop so other customers wouldn't get upset, but she realized it may also be the reason they keep coming back.

When asked if she's seen a lot of the military members transition over the years Ollison said with a chuckle, "I've seen a lot of them. Matter of fact I dated a lot of them. Seen a lot of them come and go."

the Burger King/Church's Chicken combination restaurant opened, Ollison worked the drive-thru in the original store further down Sheridan Road. Handling 11,000 drive-thru orders in a month, 67 percent of all orders, she said she lives for the hustle and bustle.

"We had to stop her. Don't you give out any phone numbers Peggy," Kennerson said laughing. "She would tell customers 'Don't cheat on me,' especially if they went to Church's Chicken."

Ollison started her career in Babenhausen, Germany.

"When I was in Germany I worked in the Burger King at AAFES there for a year and a half and then my husband got orders and I came straight here," said Ollison. "I don't like going from job to job. I like working here. I get along with everybody. Everybody laughs and has fun."

Ollison said what keeps her in her job is the customers. When asked what she enjoys about them she said "I just love them because they love me."
