WIESBADEN, Germany -- Eighteen units and organizations earned honors in this year's Army Europe-level Combined Logistics Excellence Award competition and were recognized in a ceremony Friday.

The CLEA consists of three program categories: the Army Award for Maintenance Excellence, the Deployment Excellence Award and the Supply Excellence Award.

The Army Award for Maintenance Excellence recognizes exceptional accomplishment in maintenance and provides added incentive to the competitive programs of Major Army Commands. Active, Army National Guard, and Army Reserve units compete separately against similarly-sized units.

The Deployment Excellence Award program recognizes units and installations for outstanding deployment accomplishments which meet or exceed established deployment standards. The DEA also commends those who excelled at capturing and sharing innovative deployment initiatives, which improved the deployment process.

The Supply Excellence Award recognizes excellence in supply operations. The cornerstone of the program remains the on-site evaluations of Army command nominated units.
