The Secretary of the Army (SECARMY) designated the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army (AASA) as the focal point for Department of Defense (DoD) Executive Agent (EA) responsibilities assigned to the Secretary and to oversee and manage all SECARMY delegations of authority (DoAs). The focal point coordinates on all Army matters associated with the establishment, maintenance, or cancellation of SECARMY EA and non-EA DoAs and ensures responsible officials comply with policy.
The DoD Component head, or official required in statue, to whom the Secretary of Defense (SECDEF) or Deputy Secretary of Defense (DEPSECDEF) has assigned specific responsibilities, functions, and authorities to provide defined levels of support for operational missions, or administrative or other designated activities that involve two or more of the DoD Components. The nature and scope of the assigned responsibilities, functions, and authorities are set at the time of assignment and remain in effect until the SECDEF or DEPSECDEF revokes or supersedes them.
