Small Businesses (SB) within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) are the cornerstone of the technological innovation and critical to U.S. National Security. However, SBs face persistent cyberspace threats from criminal and nation-state actors, which create risks to the lethality of DoD efforts. SBs can improve their cybersecurity posture by leveraging Verified External Service Providers (VESPs) to implement NIST and CMMC requirements. The NCODE marketplace will provide a low-cost solution by linking SBs with appropriate VESPs. This approach will allow SBs to engage in business-to-business transactions without extraneous government intervention and provide security to sensitive information before and during SB contractual relationships with the government.
