About

The Office of the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army (OAA) assists in the oversight of Intergovernmental and Intragovernmental advisory committees established to provide consensus, advice, or recommendations to the Secretary of the Army or designee. An intergovernmental committee is any committee composed wholly of Federal officers or employees and elected officers of State, local, and tribal governments, acting in their official capacities. An intragovernmental committee is any committee composed wholly of Federal officers or employees.

Committees are established and governed by charters or policies (Army Regulations, DoD issuances, or statutes) and perform fact-finding, research, evaluation, studies, and/or reviews; provide consensus recommendations and/or advice; hold regular or periodic meetings (at least once every 12 months); have a fixed membership; and consider Armywide subject areas.

OAA oversight includes committee management review of charters and maintaining the listing of all Armywide intergovernmental or intragovernmental committees.
