2019 Media Information

On-site / Remote Media Coverage

All media outlets are welcome! The 2019 D.A. Best Warrior Competition media availability will be Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. EDT at Fort A.P. Hill, Va. Competitors will be available for interviews as they complete events.

Interested media must RSVP no later than Monday, Oct. 7, and be present at the Fort A.P. Hill Visitors Access Center NLT 12:30 p.m. to be escorted. Please bring appropriate identification and credentials for installation access. Civilian or military media interested in covering the event on-site can contact Master Sgt. Tyrone Marshall at (703) 389-4435 during the competition, or tyrone.c.marshall.mil@mail.mil, to register.

Winners will be announced at the Sergeant Major of the Army's Awards Luncheon, Oct. 14, during the AUSA Convention. The event will be broadcast through live streaming at http://www.dvidshub.net/. Interviews with the Soldier and NCO of the Year begin immediately after the award ceremony. Following the AUSA convention, interested media should inquire with the Soldier and NCO of the Year's respective Army command-level public affairs for further media opportunities.

PLEASE NOTE: This competition is held under field conditions. Media representatives need to dress appropriately. For safety reasons, NO OPEN-TOED SHOES OR SANDALS will be allowed. All Media representatives should also bring plenty of water, sunscreen, insect repellant and rain gear, as needed.
