YONGSAN GARRISON, Republic of Korea -- Child Youth and Services hosted its 2013 job fair to connect job seekers with careers by offering a personal touch of assistance informing attendees of current and future job openings across the peninsula.
"We are attempting to fill 22 job vacancies due to several employees leaving for Permanent Change of Station," said Melody Hill, school liaison officer. "It is important that we have qualified staff to execute the services we provide to our community."
Representatives from the Civilian Personnel Advisory Center (CPAC) and the Employment Readiness Program (ERP) were ready to assist job hunters with resumes and other paperwork.
"This job fair allows us to help the community with uploading applications and resumes," said Brandon Carr, a CYSS workforce preparation specialist. "We provide career counselors to answer the questions and help make the whole process easier for job hunters."
According to Hill, current vacancies at the Child Development Center, Middle School and Teen Program departments include:
(18) Part time child youth and care positions with salaries ranging from $10.71-$13.60 an hour
(3) Full time lead CYPA positions with salaries ranging from $14.04-$17.09 an hour
(1) Full time Assistance Director position with a yearly salary ranging from $33,000-$37,000
"Many people aren't aware of all the valuable information they can receive from attending the CYSS job fair," said Kierstan Pak-blyzniuk, a job hunter herself. "I really like how this job fair made it easier for me to apply in person and not online."
CYSS hosts a job fair twice a year to help fill child care and school age youth related positions and other vacancies across the peninsula.
"We encourage the community to come out to our job fairs and get help with resumes and a sense of how an interview will be conducted," Carr said.
