Lt. Col. Gant, Commander, Albuquerque District, participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of the new Border Patrol Station in Clint, Texas on February 22, 2013.

In support of the USACE Fort Worth District, the new border patrol station replaced the Fabens 22,800-sq. ft. building with a 51,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility. The Fabens Border Patrol Facility, constructed in 1999, was capable of supporting 75 border patrol agents. In recent years this number has grown to 375 personnel.

"This new station is a state of the art facility which has increased full operational capability critical to national security and stakeholders," said Elizabeth Ortiz, patrol agent in charge at the Clint Border Patrol Station.

Border Patrol agents in this sector, known as the Fabens corridor, are responsible for protecting 408 square miles of interior territory and 32 miles of the International Border along the Rio Grande River.
