Tony Baumann departed Feb. 8 from Germany on a "high note" after serving as deputy director, 409th Contracting Support Brigade, Kaiserslautern, for the past six years.

"His leadership and technical expertise will be missed; moreover, his friendship and camaraderie cannot be replaced," said Col. William Bailey, commander, 409th CSB.

As deputy, Bauman's duties included executing authority of the principal assistant responsible for contracting for U.S. Army Europe/7th Army (in the PARC's absence), special competition advocate for the 409th CSB, and CP-14 contracting career program manager for the European theater.

Baumann also played a major role in the transformation and stand up of the 409th CSB.

"He was a founding member and was instrumental in the establishment of the 409th Contracting Support Brigade and the transition of Contracting Command -- Europe," remarked Bailey.

Baumann leaves the 409th CSB to take a Senior Executive Service position as the director of contracting at Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex, Robins Air Force Base, Ga.
