Wrestlers 'lock down' Soldiers at WFSC

FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas " Shawn "SuperMex" Hernandez, a professional wrestler with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, jokes about "locking down" Spc. Steven Grado (left) and Spc. Jesus Zarzoa, both wounded warriors while visiting the Warrior and Family Support Center March 5. Hernandez said he wanted to visit the wounded warriors because of his dad. "My father was a Green Beret for 30 years," said Hernandez. "He was my hero growing up; so any time I can give back to Soldiers, I am down with it." Hernandez and Velvet Sky, a fellow TNA wrestler, are in town for a "Lockdown" wrestling match March 10 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Hope's father, Staff Sgt. Ross Cox, is a wounded warrior assigned to the Warrior Transition Battalion. After meeting and talking with the troops, Sky said that she loved what the WFSC does for Soldiers and their families. "Soldiers are the real heroes of the world," she said. Velvet Sky and Shawn "SuperMex" Hernandez, a fellow TNA wrestler, signed autographs at the Warrior and Family Support Center after touring the facility. Hernandez, whose father was a career Soldier with 30 years, said visiting the WFSC was an eye-opener because "you don't really think about the casualties of war; seeing them is important."
