TOBYHANNA ARMY DEPOT, Pa. (March 5, 2013) -- Electronics Mechanic Joseph Przywara examines a connector in the Power Distribution Assembly of a AN/TSC-156B/D Phoenix satellite terminal system. Przywara works in the depot's Tactical Satellite Systems Branch.

The first AN/TSC-156B/D Phoenix was received at the depot in March 2012. Branch employees completed 12 Phoenix systems in fiscal year 2012, and are scheduled to overhaul eight in fiscal year 2013.

Technicians also perform overhaul, Reset, upgrades and technical support for the AN/TSC-93E Lynx, AN/TSC-167 and AN/TSC-185 satellite terminal systems. Tactical satellite communications systems are used by the Army, Army National Guard, Army Reserves and the Marine Corps. Branch employees also provide global technical assistance via telephone and onsite support.

Tobyhanna Army Depot is the Defense Department's largest center for the repair, overhaul and fabrication of a wide variety of electronics systems and components, from tactical field radios to the ground terminals for the defense satellite communications network. Tobyhanna's missions support all branches of the Armed Forces.
