WIESBADEN, Germany -- This summer the Army & Air Force Exchange Service will launch Exchange CONNECT, a new prepaid high-speed Internet service for military customers in Germany. The new, on-base service is being launched in partnership with TKS and in collaboration with IMCOM Europe starting in June.

"Being connected is critically important to Exchange customers, whether it be by Internet or mobile/cellular service," said Col. Frederick J. Hannah, Commander, European and Southwest Asia Region for the Exchange. "The new service will provide Exchange customers with faster speeds at competitive prices, and with the program features they are looking for. We're excited to have Exchange CONNECT join Exchange Mobile Center as leading-edge telecom offerings."

Rollout of the new service requires the installation of a WiFi Router in each individual housing unit. This is a relatively simple process that takes less than 15 minutes, and TKS technicians have already started installing these units.

Exchange CONNECT service will bring a minimum speed of 6 Mbps to every installation, with speeds up to 32 Mbps where advanced networks make it possible. There will be no contract required and no installation, activation or equipment fees charged for the new service. Customers can also look forward to customer service and billing in English as well as a VAT exclusion that eliminates the need for filing additional paperwork.
