FORT KNOX, KY -- The U.S. Army's 3rd Recruiting Brigade welcomed Capt. Joshua Shaver as the Headquarters' Commandant during a change of command ceremony held Feb. 22 in the brigade conference room.
Brigade Commander Col. John Box presided over the ceremony and thanked outgoing commandant Maj. David Clark for his dedication and hard work, and welcomed Shaver to the brigade team.
During the ceremony, the passing of the unit's flag signifies the relinquishing of responsibility and authority from the outgoing to the incoming leadership responsibility for the brigade headquarters.
A career infantry officer, Shaver was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in 2005. He comes to 3rd Recruiting Brigade after completing an assignment as the Commander for Cobra Company 1-28 Infantry in Paktika, Afghanistan.

Prior to the change of command ceremony, a ceremony was conducted in which David was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for his exceptional service and contributions to 3rd Brigade. Box specifically acknowledged Clark's tireless efforts in helping to make the brigades' move from building 1406 to building 1468 a smooth transition for the entire staff.
