The Department of Army Inspector General, Lt. Gen. Peter M. Vangjel, made a quick stop by the Rock Island Arsenal Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center today during a visit to the installation. During his visit, he received an overview briefing from RIA-JMTC Commander, Col. James O. Fly, Jr., and a short tour.

"I love touring manufacturing facilities," said Vangjel following his tour. "Seeing people make things with their hands is invigorating to watch."

During his tour, he had a chance to see up close the new Friction Stir Welding machine that is at Rock Island through a partnership with H.F. Webster. The new state-of-the-art machine will be used in future military applications.
