REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. - A U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command G-8 employee retired from federal service Jan. 25.
Janie Montgomery, a budget analyst, retired with 36 years of federal service - both military and civilian - during a cermony at SMDC's Redstone Arsenal headquarters.
During the ceremony, Montgomery was presented the Meritorious Civilian Service Medal, a certificate of appreciation, an American flag that was flown over the nation's captial, and a retirement certificate and pin.
Instead of the traditional one large cake, Montgomery's G-6 coworkers brought different cakes and an assortment of finger foods.
