Rock Island Arsenal, Ill. -- Leaders from Army Contracting Command-Rock Island welcomed U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Robert R. Ruark, U.S. Central Command director for logistics and engineering, here on Jan. 16.

ACC-RI Acting Executive Director, Col. John P. Hannon, and other ACC-RI leaders briefed Ruark on the contracting work associated with the Reachback and LOGCAP missions, as well as the general support capabilities that ACC-RI provides to CENTCOM. The well-received briefing also touched on the lessons learned from the U.S. military drawdown and subsequent retrograde from Iraq.

During Ruark's trip -- his first to Rock Island Arsenal -- he also met with leaders of Army Sustainment Command and Joint Munitions Command.
