The Voluntary Protection Program Safety Santa visited the employees at the Rock Island Arsenal Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center this week. He also left them a poem.

Twas the week before Christmas and all through the Arsenal shop floor

The employees in the foundry were getting ready for a pour

All year long, they worked on being safe

To ensure that their safety rating was high at this Army Base

Because of their outstanding record

The VPP Safety Santa quietly explored

And handed out candy canes to everyone he happened to meet

He even found his way to Heat Treat

Yes, this Arsenal worked hard to establish a culture of VPP

They even took care of little things like making sure there is no debris

The workers promised Santa to continue to practice safety next year

As everyone knew this program only works unless you volunteer
