BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan -- Task Force Medical-Afghanistan clinical operations has developed the Alternate Input Method form, or AIM, an electronic form to assist all medical providers in Afghanistan to increase accurate use of the Military Acute Concussion Evaluation card.
The AIM form development was coordinated with the assistance of the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center, who first designed the MACE card.
"Providers can now simply click the appropriate check boxes to document the required information instead of having to navigate through the [Electronic Medical Record] to document information written down on the MACE Form," said Col. Roberti Sartori, the Afghanistan Theater Neurology Consultant.
Procedures are in place to assess every concussive injury to U.S. service members. The AIM electronic form is a tool to enable greater accuracy for continuity of care when the service member leaves Afghanistan.
