Westphal visits SHAPE in Belgium

Under Secretary of the Army Joseph W. Westphal visits the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, or SHAPE, to gain situational awareness of NATO priorities and contributions to International Security Forces-Afghanistan, known as ISAF-A, Nov. 19, 2012. Twenty-eight countries in the NATO alliance are currently contributing to the ISAF mission in Afghanistan. During his visit, Westphal also met with key leaders, toured the SHAPE International school, and met with Army War College Fellows. Westphal's visit to the headquarters is a prelude to his annual Thanksgiving visit with Soldiers in Afghanistan with Army Vice Chief of Staff Gen. Lloyd J. Austin III.
