Baumholder's civilian workforce takes its job serious. A total of 1,735 years of service was recently accumulated by 50 U.S. Army Garrison Baumholder civilian employees.
Lt. Col. Mike Sullivan, USAG Baumholder commander, recognized these employees during a length of service ceremony Nov. 7 at the Rheinlander Community Club on Smith Barracks.
"It is with great pleasure that I recognize our civilian employees who have completed long-term service within the USAG Baumholder military community," said Sullivan.
Before presenting each employee with a length of service certificate and pin, Sullivan told the garrison employees, "Whether being recognized for 40, 35, 30, 25 years or 20 years, your dedicated service and individual accomplishments have contributed immeasurably to mission success and our Soldiers and their families are sincerely grateful."
Sullivan thanked each employee individually as they stepped up to receive their certificate and a length of service pin.
The honorees represented a wide spectrum of Army mission areas to include: Directorate of Public Works, Directorate of Logistics, Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Directorate of Emergency Service, 5th Signal Command and the 7th Joint Multinational Training Command.
Civilians recognized included German and U.S. employees. The employees were also thanked for their service and recognized for their service by James Chen, USAG Baumholder deputy to the garrison commander; Command Sgt. Major Augustus Wah, USAG Baumholder command sergeant major; and the various garrison directors.
Sullivan told the garrison employees that he was very proud of their dedication to the garrison and the U.S. Army and of the service they provide for the Baumholder families and Soldiers.
"Thank you again for your outstanding service and let me be the first to congratulate you on a job well done," said Sullivan.
