Fort Huachuca, AZ. - The Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation's 4th annual haunted house and hayride drew about 5,200 scare-a-holics according to Barbi Barnett, Non-appropriated Fund Support Division chief.

"This two-day event was a collective and massive effort by almost every division of FMWR," she said. This free event ran for five hours on both Friday and Saturday night.

Overseen by the special events team, this event included much more than just a haunted hayride along a trail of live action spooky scenes. It included a haunted house, Halloween movies, food, and a children's area with face painting, games and arts and crafts vendors.

"This was the 4th Annual Haunted Hayride, Barnett said. "Each year we make improvements to enhance the experience and make it easier on our Soldiers and Families. This year, we added timed rides using tickets, gated the parking area, expanded our Halloween movie area, improved food, and enhanced the Haunted House.

"All these changes were designed to mitigate lines. However, our attendance almost doubled [this year] with an estimated 5,200 [people] across both days. Although lines were long and all areas were crowded, we got repeated positive comments regaling our event as the best offered in the County. We also received continuous expressions of gratitude from our Soldiers and Families," Barnett said.
