FORT JACKSON, S.C.--Col. Mark Cook of Charlotte, N.C., relinquished command of 206th Army Liaison Detachment, 412th Theater Engineer Command, to Col. Mark Ricchiazzi, a native of Buffalo, N.Y., in a ceremony held here Oct. 13, 2012.
Maj. Gen. William M. Buckler, Jr., commander of 412th TEC, officiated the transfer of leadership and presented the outgoing commander with a Meritorious Service Medal for exceptional service and performance as ALD chief for the past three years.
Cook will move on to his next assignment as deputy commander of United States Army Corps of Engineer Trans-Atlantic Division in Winchester, Va.
Ricchiazzi, as new ALD chief, was promoted to the rank of colonel during the ceremony. Ricchiazzi recently returned from a three year deployment to Saudi Arabia where he served as a Security Assistance Advisor.
The Buffalo native has held numerous key operational assignments and has served four duty tours overseas. His most recent assignment was as the Modernization Planning Officer for the Office of the Program Manager --Facilities Security Forces, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
