Medics from the Fort McNair Health clinic administer flu vaccines to Joint Force Headquarters - National Capital Region/U.S. Army Military District of Washington Chief of Staff Col. Patrick Warren and Deputy Commander Egon Hawrylak Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Fort McNair.

The 2012 flu vaccine will be available to all DEERS-eligible active duty, retired service members and DoD civilians attached or assigned to JFHQ-NCR/MDW at building 58 from 0900 to 1430 on Tuesday, 23 October at Fort McNair.

"With our upcoming mission in support of the Presidential Inauguration; it is imperative that we maintain the health of our force. The flu vaccine provides a proven, safe means of doing that," said Col. Mike Smith, JFHQ-NCR/MDW command surgeon.

There will be a 100 percent CAC/MILITARY ID check. Wear clothes that allow technicians to access your upper arm. Results of your screening questionnaire and available supply are used to determine if you will receive the flu mist or flu shot.

ALARACT 181/2012 (2012-2013 SEASONAL INFLEUENZA VACCINATION) "requires" all Active Component, National Guard, Reserve Component, and Mandatory Healthcare Personnel (excluding those medically exempted) are to be immunized.
